Posted by on March 6, 2013

Paris – the city of love. But not only on Valentine’s Day, the city attracts lovebirds from all over the world! Easter is a time of happiness and with it comes the time of blooming trees, blossoming flowers, and love in the air! But what to do to really enjoy the city in spring time? This post gives pleasant spring alternatives for a trip to Paris!

Paris springSpring is around the corner, and with it comes the precious Easter holiday. Imagine all the trees finally blossoming and showing their best side! If Valentine’s Day has not drawn you to the city of Love, then Easter is your next big chance! The city of Paris offers countless activities to undertake on a trip, and especially in spring time, you can enjoy things to do in an atmosphere of trees just about to reach their full bloom. Many parks of the city invite to go for a stroll and admire the work of nature and man, take a picnic on the green grass, or take up the opportunity to ride along the river Seine in a boat!

Picnic in the Park

Many a love has started in one of the many romantic parks of Paris, where on large green spaces it is easy to just take a large blanket, put down your basket of goodies, and let the picnic in the park start. Surrounded by trees that have just started showing their green beauty, you can enjoy a beautiful lunch. Great places to go to for this are Tuileries Garden by the Louvre, a historic baroque park, where you can also just grab a chair and enjoy the fresh air, or Parc des Buttes Chaumont, which offers a rich scenery of hills, many sights, and plenty of sun to relax in.

On one of the hills, the Temple of Sybille is probably one of the most relaxing places to go to in a park, overlooking the entire grounds. These two parks are also great to take a nice break from all the sightseeing, as they are both in the central circle of Paris! Especially if you want to avoid the expensive tourist traps, a picnic in the park is very much worth a try!

Paris via the Seine

Many boats go up and down the Seine daily, but only a few offer a unique dining and sightseeing experience. On one of the boats, the Bateaux Parisiens, you ride along the Seine while being pampered with excellent gourmet meals and listening to live music on board. Especially on the lunch boat rides, you get to see the beautiful scenery and enjoy the season thoroughly! You can pick different offers with different places on the boat, like on the bow, from where you see all nice attractions the little cruise rides by, such as the famous Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower. Of course, there are also the many bridges you won’t have to cover on foot, but will get to see them from your comfortable seat on the boat. Different meals are available as well – the most prestige of the offers starts with champagne, and goes on with nice specialties from France, helping you experience culture all around. For a little more romance, the boat also goes at night, when all the attractions are lit up and shine in a romantic way.

A trip to Paris is quite an experience, but these two options give you the chance to stop and smell the roses. Easter is a popular time to travel to Paris because of the unique scenery that it offers, and I can only say that it is truly a dream to have the fresh spring air gently blowing by. Come see for yourself what things there are to do in Paris, whether it is spring, summer, autumn, or winter.
